The Witcher 3 Was Top Selling Game For May 2015

Now the NPD results for May are in, and while many games have held on from April, one notable title is absent. It seems that sales for Battlefield Hardline have declined fairly drastically, as the game debuted at the top of the NPD charts in March, dropped to third in April, and is completely missing in action in May. Unfortunately for EA and Visceral, Battlefield Hardline just doesn’t have the same staying power as previous games in the franchise....

The Trump Administration S Attack On Nature Threatens Hunters And Anglers Like Me Opinion

If you asked a dozen sportsmen and women about the Endangered Species Act, you’d likely hear both praise for its successes and dismay over its failures. What you would not hear, though, are calls for more species to walk the dim, dusty path toward extinction. We all support America’s outdoor heritage, and that’s true regardless of our politics or ideology. As President Teddy Roosevelt once cautioned, “I recognize the right and duty of this generation to develop and use the natural resources of our land; but I do not recognize the right to waste them, or to rob, by wasteful use, the generations that come after us....

The Two Koreas

That’s not to say their debate is over. Like countless other families, the Lees are hashing out divergent political views ahead of the most significant presidential race in South Korea’s short democratic era. In the run-up to the Dec. 19 election, Koreans are arguing over kimchi, shouting at their televisions and lobbying undecided relatives. Unlike the last presidential contest in 1997, which took place against the backdrop of a financial crisis, this election season arrives amid robust economic growth and widespread prosperity....

The U.S. Has Mismanaged China Policy For 20 Years. Time To Fix It. Opinion

China’s entry would open a huge market where which foreign companies could sell, argued our elected officials, and the benefits would accrue to everyone—including in China, where the authoritarian state and centrally planned economy would liberalize. And, for good measure, this change was presented as inevitable. If we didn’t approve the deal, the Washington Post editorial board argued, others would, to our disadvantage. Just think of the money to be made....

The Virtues Of Value

People talk about value funds, but you really have to look at the manager’s approach and see ff he really is a value investor. Here’s our approach: we try to value what a business is worth today and buy its stock at a 30 to 50 percent discount to that price. Compare this with a growth investor, who has to predict future earnings to determine a stock’s worth. We have no ability to predict the future, but we do have a pretty good ability to value a business today based on its current cash flows and earnings, the cash on its balance sheet and the value of comparable businesses....

The Walking Dead Final Season Episode 2 Review

Nevertheless, The Walking Dead: The Final Season is going out in true Telltale spirit, leaving fans with a narrative that could only be achieved by this company. This second episode begins where the first left off and builds cohesively upon the last episode....

The Wider War

Actually, though, a lot has changed–and not just because Hizbullah had transformed itself from the 1980s terrorist organization that trafficked in hostages and car bombs into a disciplined militia that was able to absorb everything the Israelis threw at it the past three weeks, only to emerge from the rubble and dare it to keep trying. There is another, even larger reality this time around: today the battle is not just over some hardscrabble hillsides in southern Lebanon, but for public opinion in a far more polarized and interconnected world....

The Wisdom Of Babies

In a study published recently in the journal Nature, scientists tested 6- and 10-month-old babies to see how smart they are about judging people by how they act toward others. The babies, it turns out, prefer those who are helpful rather than unhelpful toward a third party (that is, not the baby himself). The findings suggest that children evaluate those around them far earlier than previously thought, deciding “who is friend and who is foe, who is an appropriate social partner and who is not,” write graduate students Kiley Hamlin, Karen Wynn and psychology professor Paul Bloom of Yale University....

The Witcher Season 3 Premiere Window Announced By Netflix

The Witcher is an adaptation of the fantasy book series by the same name, authored by Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski. Though the video game franchise is more well known, the series instead sticks closer to the books and is considered an adaptation of those works. It has been a huge success for Netflix and stars Man of Steel actor Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia, a “Witcher” or beast hunter....

The Xbox One Elite Controller Is The Best Controller Out There

Every inch of the Xbox One Elite controller makes it feel like the luxury product it’s been marketed as, and as soon as I held it in my hands I knew it was something special. Immediately noticeable is the weight and texture of the peripheral, making it feel like a true evolution of the now infamous input device. As many are sure to immediately point out, however, there’s more to a pro-level controller than something that simply feels nice in your hands....
